Passport photo size is usually defined two ways: a physical size in inches or centimetres, and the matching pixel count at a given DPI (dots per inch). This tool is pre-configured to the most widely used international requirement: 2 × 2 inches, which equals 51 × 51 mm and 600 × 600 pixels at 300 DPI.

To convert a physical size to pixels, multiply by the DPI: at 300 DPI, 2 inches × 300 = 600 pixels. Agencies usually state either the physical size or the exact pixel value (for example "600 × 600 px"). If your form lists pixel dimensions instead of inches, this 2×2 preset produces exactly 600 × 600 pixels, so it also covers passport photo pixel resize requests.
